About BDC

Kao Min-chen
aulu tjibulangan

Dance has been a passion since birth. aulu started to dance in third grade, but his strong competitive spirit made him feel he had started too late, so he pushed himself twice as hard to become stronger. He continued in dance classes through middle and high school, and later graduated from the Departmene of Dance at the Taipei National University of the Arts. His choreogdraphy once received the Pulim Art Award fro Excellence in Performance Creation.

With a body trained through years of formal education, aulu possessed the qualities of a professional dancer. Yet after joining BDC, he had to temporarily set aside the techniques he learned in school and relearn through physical labor and traditional culture. He said that he used to be Kao Min-chen, the dancer, but BDC helped him become aulu —— a more complete version of himself.

"Being beautiful" used to be the necessary requirement for standing on stage, but now he says, "Just being myself is beautiful enough."

He curreently serves as the rehearsal assistant for BDC.
